Maha Shatki: open levels dharma yoga master class
Friday 5-7p:
this class will be nice, slow , and very meditative working on the subtle body with pranayama and chanting as well as working on the physical body with asana. there will be lots of hip openers for lotus prep and some inversions followed by relaxation, capping off with a short meditation.
Rocket 3: master class
Saturday 10-12p:
a modified mix between primary , secondary and even third series poses with lots of transitions stopping along the way to explore these fun transitions and inversions . yes lots of inversions in this practice and Yancy will teach you all his secrets and tricks to get you there faster ;)
Maha Sadhana: Dharma Yoga master class: a Hatha Raja Yoga practice
Sunday 10-12p:
In Hatha (SunMoon) you hold the poses a little longer and the Raja (Royal) refers to studying the 8limbs of yoga aka the Royal Path of yoga. This practice includes chanting, pranayama, meditation as well as Asana (Postures).
Dharma Yoga is from the linage of Sri Dharma Mittra who a living yoga master. Yancy studied with Dharma and taught at his studio in New York. A hallmark of Dharma Yoga is the variety of postures that are explored. In this workshop Yancy will introduce and help you learn a few of Dharma's 908 postures. then celebrate with an asana jam at the end of class to cap off the weekend.
About Yancy:
Yancy took his first yoga class in 2005 while on a skate tour in the Dominican Republic. He initially got into yoga because it made him feel lighter while skating. In 2008 he received his 200-hour Vinyasa certification from Yoga to the People in New York City. In 2013 he completed a 500 hour Dharma Yoga Center certification and a 50-hour Rocket Vinyasa certification from Asta Yoga. Yancy wants to help his students evolve beyond the physical and mental, attuning to their natural rhythms and developing their 6th sense.
